Our mission

The Morris County Assisted Living, through teamwork and a strong belief in healthy lifestyles, will provide compassionate, professional, and consistent care to the people we serve. We demand the highest standard of care and strive to provide a family centered atmosphere.

Let us help you find the level of care that you need

Independent Living With Help

Morris County Assisted Living is designed to help you remain as independent as possible while also receiving the care that you need from our professional and licensed staff. The process begins with an assessment and continues with routine evaluations of your care plan to ensure that you are receiving the services you need.

Cost of Living Worksheet

Many people underestimate the total cost of remaining at home. A worksheet helps identify hidden or overlooked expenses. When compared line-by-line, this can show that assisted living may actually be more cost-effective than expected and has a added bonus of peace-of-mind and quality of life!

Admission Criteria

Before a care plan is chosen, each resident must complete an evaluation with our staff. They must meet the admission criteria to be considered a potential resident. You can find out more information by speaking with our director, Laverne Young, at 620-767-5600.

Respite Care

A uniquely designed short-term stay in our assisted living community. It is often suggested for seniors who are recovering from a hospital visit or other health circumstance. It's also available when a caregiver takes an extended vacation, or for a senior living trial period such as wintertime time to avoid isolation and the dangers that come with cold weather.

  • What makes us special:

Being under the supervision of Morris County Hospital, the Assisted Living Center has access to backup support on a 24/7 basis.  You will find the Assisted Living staff kind, caring, compassionate: focused on meeting the daily needs of each resident. Getting to know the Resident and their Family – is their number one objective! Add in some delicious home cooked meals, planned activities, personal housekeeping & laundry service, as well as an in-house salon service, and your new home is pretty well equipped for comfort.

  • Why choose us:

At Morris County Assisted Living (MCAL), we offer more than just a place to live—we provide a welcoming community designed for comfort, connection, and peace of mind. Residents enjoy access to private meeting spaces, perfect for hosting family meals or celebrating special occasions in a warm, homelike setting.

MCAL serves an important role for individuals in Morris County and surrounding areas who, in retirement, may need a little extra support, whether living alone or with a spouse. Here, the burdens of home maintenance—like mowing the lawn, shoveling snow, or washing windows—are a thing of the past. It’s time to relax, form new friendships, and rediscover old ones in a community built around care and companionship.

Floor Plans

We have three different floor plans for residents to choose from. The variety of square footage in floor plans allows for flexibility and is larger than many of our competitors. Each Private room comes complete with its own private bathroom and kitchenette. The kitchenette includes a microwave and refrigerator.

Our Ashleigh floor plan is 367 sq. feet. The Benton is 409 sq. feet, and the Forest is 519 sq. feet. The Benton and the Forest are most suitable for couples.

Our History

The vision for an Assisted Living facility in our community took root in 2004, beginning with a community-wide survey and presentations across Morris County and neighboring areas to gather input and support. Groundbreaking took place in the spring of 2006, and the facility was officially dedicated on November 17, 2007. Residents began moving in shortly after our Open House event.

A significant transition occurred on November 20, 2019, when the Morris County Hospital Foundation, our major investor, led a change in investor participation alongside the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD). As a result, the Morris County Hospital was invited by the investors to assume management of the facility beginning November 21, 2019.

Morris County Assisted Living is nestled in the serene heart of the Flint Hills, offering a peaceful and welcoming environment for all our residents. Enjoy a leisurely day indoors, or take a revitalizing stroll through our charming neighborhood. As the day winds down, relax and unwind while watching the breathtaking sunsets from our peaceful gazebo.

At Morris County, we embrace the philosophy: "Our Family Caring for Your Family." We invite you to experience the warmth and care that make our assisted living community truly unique.

Please call to schedule a tour of the facility and have lunch with us. Call and speak with Laverne at 620-767-5600.
